Introduction

Hi, my name is Akseli. I'm 22 year old information processing science student studying in the University of Oulu. Most of my spare time I spend by listening to music, playing video games and going to the gym. The genres of music I have listened to most lately are ambient, jazz and rap. In my blog I will be mostly talking about things relating to information processing science and my studies. 

The main reason I became interested in studying computer science was because I have always been interested in coding. I have been trying to learning to code on- and off since I’ve been 13. Also the field seemed very interesting overall and I have always wanted to see what’s the life in college like.  The above average pay and good job market that the field didn’t hurt either. 

My favourite project I've done would probably be a 2D platformer game I made a few years ago. As a hobby, I tried making a little videogame. I did the game with couple of my friends in a course of a week. The project wasn’t very challenging although trying to implement an enemy AI in the game caused some problems while coding. The project was very fun to make, and I feel like I learned a lot while making it. Too bad that I accidentally deleted the whole thing while formatting my hard drive couple years ago. 

The main goal related to English right now is that I want to better my verbal skills. I feel like my writing is fine. The thing I suck at though is pronunciation. My English is very rally-English-y. That isn’t a huge problem though, since most Finnish people speak like that. Still, I would like to not speak like that. I would also like to better my vocabulary.
